Garden Tour
The Symphony Guild's 21st annual Garden Tour is set for Sunday, May 4, 2008, from 2 to 5 p.m. Tickets are $25. Each year three unique Whittier gardens are selected for the delightful event.
Adding to the enchanting sights at the 3 garden settings will be mood-setting music performed at each garden by Rio Hondo Symphony members and friends. Along the way music lovers and horticulturists will also enjoy light refreshments.
Tourists are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes as they walk the winding paths to see the blooming flowers and other horticultural delights, garden benches and a fountain or two.
Plant sales will be held at Garden #3, as well as some jewelry crafts and paintings done by Guild members. At the end of the afternoon a painting which has been done during the afternoon in one of the gardens by a local artist will be raffled off to one of the Garden Tour attendees.
