Garden Tour

The Symphony Guild's 25th Annual Garden Tour is set for Sunday, April 22, 2012, from 2 to 5 p.m. Tickets and Gift Certificates (see below) are $25. Each year three unique Whittier gardens are selected for the delightful event.

Adding to the enchanting sights at the 3 garden settings will be mood-setting music performed at each garden by Rio Hondo Symphony members and friends. Along the way music lovers and horticulturists will also enjoy light refreshments.

Tourists are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes as they walk the winding paths to see the blooming flowers and other horticultural delights, garden benches and a fountain or two.

Buy a few favorite plants at Garden #3. At the end of the afternoon a water color painting which has been done during the afternoon in one of the gardens by local artist Carole Borries will be awarded as a gate prize to one of the Garden Tour attendees.

In the early Spring of 2012 advance tickets for $25 each are available at the Whittier Community Center located at 7630 Washington Ave, Whittier, or the Whittier Art Gallery located at 8035 Painter Ave, Whittier (open Wed to Sun, noon to 5PM). Tickets may also be purchased from Guild members. On the day of the Garden Tour tickets are $30 and may be purchased at Garden No. 1, location TBA.

This year we are also making Garden Tour Gift Certificates available. These may be purchased in lieu of the yet to be printed tickets and used for gift giving during the Holiday Season, for Birthdays, or for any other special occasion. Please call Chair Alison Morgan if you are interested. The Gift Certificates will also be available at Symphony Guild and Symphony Association events.
