Membership

Perhaps the best things in life are free. Certainly our concert admission is free. However, did you know it cost almost $31,000 to produce just a single concert?

Your membership in the Rio Hondo Symphony Association makes a difference - really! Since memberships make up a third of the Association's income, there would be no orchestra without contributions from people like you.

How fortunate that the entire community has access to truly great music for the price of a membership! The musicians work for small honorariums and thousands of volunteer hours help support the concerts and the children's programs.

Wisely, the orchestra's founders provided concerts for free. Over time they engaged the entire community with a passion for classical music. When you become a member, you are paying tribute to the founders and musicians of long ago. Your contribution symbolizes two things: your belief that music is a miraculous work of the human spirit and secondly, your desire to keep music in your life and in your community. .

The Symphony Still Needs You

Congratulations! Your extra help last year enabled the Symphony Association to complete a 78th season of four FREE, dynamic and entertaining concerts for everyone's enjoyment. In spite of the deficit, the quality of the performances was not compromised. Conductor Kimo Furumoto's artistic directing continues to inspire the dedicated musicians to perform their full potential. His unique programming and charismatic presence onstage attract larger and more appreciative audiences each year.

In spite of drastic budget cuts and your fine support, a smaller deficit still exists. We need your financial help to eliminate it. You can join the Symphony Association for just $25. If you give $150 or more, you will receive an invitation for two to attend the after-concert buffet receptions. In addition to socializing with other ardent classical music lovers, you will have the opportunity to meet the conductor, soloist, musicians and board members who help to make possible the delightful performances.

Now is the time to join at a higher level. If you have never been a member, please join now. The names of all members will be listed in the concert programs.

Membership Classifications

For a tax-deductible contribution of $150 or more you will be invited to the post-concert receptions. Names of all contributors are listed in the concert programs.

We invite YOU to become a member of the Symphony Association.
