Hoang Nguyen

Hoang Nguyen - Piano

Hoang Nguyen, emerging young pianist from Vietnam, made his orchestral debut at age 13 when he performed Mozart's Piano Concerto in A Major with Vietnam's National Symphony Orchestra.

Nguyen, who began studying the piano with his mother at age five, studied for six years in France after being discovered by French pianist Genevieve Martiny at the age of 14. He pursued his musical studies at the Conservatoire Jean-Philippe Rameau in Paris and at the Conservatoire de Region de Versailles and de Paris. While in France, he performed in major music festivals throughout the country.

John Dearman

John Dearman - Guitar

John Dearman, classical guitarist, was a co-founder of the highly acclaimed L.A. Guitar Quartet in 1980 along with William Kanengiser and John Tennant. The group, formed in a class at USC, regularly tours worldwide. It has appeared at Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, the Concertgebow of Amsterdam, Berlin Philharmonic and Tokyo Opera City.

Dearman has performed with members of the LA Phil at the Ojai Festival and as part of the Green Umbrella Concert Series. In 2006 he was a featured soloist in performance of Osvaldo Golijov's "Oceana" with the Atlanta Symphony and Chorus.

Michelle Tseng - Violin
Jacqueline Fontaine - Soprano

Young Artists Competition winners are Michelle Tseng, Violin, and Jacquelynne Fontaine, Soprano. Each of them won in her category at the Competition held on February 6, 2010.

Michelle Tseng will be performing the Brahms Violin Concerto in D Major. Jacqueline Fontaine will sing "Gualtier Maldè - Caro nome" from Rigoletto and "Glitter and be Gay" from Candide.
