The Rio Hondo Symphony Orchestra presents:
80th Anniversary Gala on Saturday March 16, 2013 at Whittier College AJ Villalobos Hall
The Rio Hondo Symphony will celebrate its 80th year of free concerts at a special 80th Birthday Dinner Gala at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013, at A. J. Villalobos Hall, Whittier College.
The glorious celebration will include a gourmet dinner catered by Bon Appetit, special live music, a live auction and more. The theme will be the 20's. The birthday celebration will be a semi-formal affair, with 20's clothes optional.
Among the many live auction items will be a $3,000 mini vacation trip for two to Montana with lodgings in an historic home. Other auction opportunities will include short trips, gourmet dining experiences and more.
In addition to a celebration of the orchestra's 80th milestone, the event will be the Symphony Association's major fundraiser for the 2012-2013 season of four free concerts.
Chairing the event is Charles Claver, past Symphony Association board member. Assisting him are Dr. Fay Weber, Laurie Baccus, Neal Welland, Mary Herrera and Maurice Meysenburg.
